Szechenyi Baths & Pool: Fun Place, Fine Palace

Szechenyi Baths (built in 1913) is the most visited and much praised attraction in Budapest: relaxing, fun, affordable and, at night, romantic. In addition to the marvellous medicinal natural hot spring waters in the 18 pools, there are 10 saunas / steam cabins, several massage therapies, facial treatments, and more.

Szechenyi Spa Baths is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The  Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries: starting with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths, through the 16th century Turkish occupiers who built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest to the 19-20th century natural medical trends that promote aqua therapies and their deeply beneficial effects. The beautiful building of the spa baths is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in May 1909.

Come and enjoy your time in Budapest in Szechenyi Spa Baths, in a beautiful, richly decorated palace. The perfect place to chill out, to get to know locals, make business deals and fall in love.

  1. Hello, am I eligible to visit if I have a Russian Covid certificate and two doses of Sputnik V vaccine?

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Hello Valeria,
      Thank you for contacting us.

Yes, presenting your Russian Sputnik vaccination certificates will be accepted.

If you have an EU, US, Australian, Canadian, Sputnik (RU) etc. Covid passport proving 1 or 2 jabs of the vaccination (if it is valid and has not expired) it will be accepted.
Currently only visitors who have valid proof of vaccination (Covid passport) OR immunity (proof of antibodies) are allowed to enter the baths, as long as your documents are official and valid (official antibody tests are accepted by the baths as attestation of immunity), great to be complemented by the recent negative PCR test for enhanced safety.

Please note that a valid photo ID is also needed that matches the vaccination/ immunity data on your digital or printed documents. This photo ID needs to be an official document, not a screenshot, or a photo, not presentable on a screen – you will need the original official document.
Have a great holiday in Budapest!

  2. Hi,

Is a photo of my ID on my mobile phone enough to use for ID with my covid cert? as I do not like bringing my passport out while on holidays incase I lose it. Or must it be a physical ID ?

    Looking forward to visiting soon

  3. Hello!

We are planning our visit next week and have 2 questions:
    – Is it valid the Russian COVID certificate of Sputnik vaccine? We have both dosis
    – Can we present our ID on the phone?

    Thank you!
