Szechenyi Baths Cabin

The term ‘Szechenyi Bath cabin’ is used for changing rooms and storage rooms at Szechenyi Baths, in other words the cabins at Szechenyi Baths are private changing cabins, where you can, in your own privacy get changed and store your belongings.

Another option is to use the common changing areas and lockers for your items to be locked up.

Szechenyi Bath Ticket  – Cabin Use
The tickets to the bath can be purchased with ‘cabin use’, or with lockers. The cabin is an extra service on behalf of Szechenyi Baths (plus they take up a lot of room), so the tickets with cabins are approx. 1.5 – 3 Euro more expensive than the standard bath tickets, which include a locker by default. It is up to you if you want to have a more upgraded service at Szechenyi Bath or you are fine with the cheaper bath tickets, which do not include the use of a cabin.

You can also buy your ticket to the Szechenyi Baths online via our ticket agency partner and save some time (not having to stand in the queue, which in summer time can mean 25-35 min waiting before you get to the cashier). Please note that the online ticket costs appr. 1 Euro more than the tickets you can buy in person at the bath.

The cabins at Szechenyi Bath can comfortably take up 1 person, and a bit more tightly even a couple to get changed. However, if you wish to use the cabin as a couple or as a family, we suggest getting changed by taking turns.

You can see the photo of a bath cabin at Szechenyi Baths – closed doors, and what is behind the door. As you can see the cabin is not a spacious room, as it has been designed for getting changed for the pools, not for staying in.

This is how a Szechenyi cabin looks like from the inside (clean, purposeful, nothing fancy, perfect for having your privacy):

Spring in Szechenyi Baths also means some regular maintenance works. Although the bath is open …

  1. Looking to come around the 10th of December, are all of the pools etc still in full use or do some shut down? Also is there a time you need to arrive or once you have your tickets can you arrive when you want to.

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Dear Emily,
yes, all pools are open during winter too, including the outdoor thermal pools (a special experience!).
Online purchased tickets are valid from 9am to 9.45pm (the bath closes at 10 pm). Online ticket check-in times are more limited though – entry is any time between 9am and 6pm.
If you know that you would like to or you may arrive after 6pm, just buy the tickets at the cashier in the baths to avoid inconveniences.
Enjoy the thermal baths in Budapest!

  2. Hi there,
I planned to go there in mid October, may I know the outdoor pool’s temperature ?
    Best regards,

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Hello Charles,
please see all pools with temperatures (with Celsius or Fahrenheit) on the link below:
The outdoor pools are open all year round, we recommend you bring or rent a bathrobe during on cold days.
Hope you will enjoy your visit at Szechenyi Spa Baths!

  3. The location of the cabin can be jointly accessed by a couple or is the cabin placed inside a men/females only change room ?

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Dear Sunny,

      Thank you for your question.

The cabin comfortably accommodates one person, so it could be a bit tight if you go there with your partner, but you can take turns when getting ready for the bath. As cabins take up more space and ensure your privacy, bath entries with cabin use are more expensive than regular lockers. If case you purchase cheaper bath entries with lockers, you will have to get changed in the ladies-only / men-only public changing rooms, and then store your bags in the lockers. If you wish to have your own privacy, cabins are a better solution for you.

We wish you a wonderful bath experience in Budaepst!

  4. Hello. I have booked tickets for the thermal beer spa through their own website which included entrance to the szechenyi baths.
