Szechenyi Baths & Pool: Fun Place, Fine Palace

Szechenyi Baths (built in 1913) is the most visited and much praised attraction in Budapest: relaxing, fun, affordable and, at night, romantic. In addition to the marvelous medicinal natural hot spring waters in the 18 pools, there are 10 saunas / steam cabins, several massage therapies, facial treatments, and more.

Szechenyi Spa Baths is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The  Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries: starting with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths, through the 16th century Turkish occupiers who built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest to the 19-20th century natural medical trends that promote aqua therapies and their deeply beneficial effects. The beautiful building of the spa baths is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in May 1909.

Come and enjoy your time in Budapest in Szechenyi Spa Baths, in a beautiful, richly decorated palace. The perfect place to chill out, to get to know locals, make business deals and fall in love.

      Hello Marcelo,
thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, we only manage online reservations as a third party. For lost property issues, please contact the following email address, the official direct email contact of the baths: szechenyi@spabudapest.hu
Alternatively, you can take a visit to the bath to inquire in person, which is probably the fastest and most efficient. If you have already tried to restore your lost item with the help of the staff of Szechenyi Baths – if I understand correctly – unfortunately there is no more that could be done.

We are terribly sorry that we cannot be of more help.
Enjoy the rest of your stay in Budapest!

  4. Hello,
I went there with my friend last week. It was so nice:)
By the way, I found we paid twice. First I paid with Paypal and I receive a mail about failure of payment. So my friend paid one more with her credit card.
My name is Hyunjin Ha and my friend name is Hyunjeong Song.
Could you please check the payment and send a mail to me?
I also have transaction ID (which was paid with paypal) and receipt number (which was paid with credit card). If you need it, please let me know your mail or something I can contact.
Then I’ll send it to you by mail.
    Thank you

  6. Hello.
I cant fond any information about your bath that tell me if the bath is accesable for a handicapped person? Is there any elevators in to the pools like in gellert? In our group we have a disabeld person in a wheelchair.
    Thank you

      Dear Johan,

      thank you for your email.

There are two entrances to Szechenyi Baths, one is easily accessible, this entrance is open from the Kós Károly sétány. If you take the other entrance (opposite the Circus Building, there is a lift for wheelchair users, but it requires someone from the staff to operate it). As the lockers are downstairs, I would also recommend to buy a Ticket with Cabin, as Cabins are on the groundfloor.

I am afraid, inside the thermal pool are there is not any lift at the pools.

I would suggest to visit Gellert Spa.

Thank you for your kind understanding.
