Szechenyi Baths & Pool: Fun Place, Fine Palace

Szechenyi Baths (built in 1913) is the most visited and much praised attraction in Budapest: relaxing, fun, affordable and, at night, romantic. In addition to the marvellous medicinal natural hot spring waters in the 18 pools, there are 10 saunas / steam cabins, several massage therapies, facial treatments, and more.

Szechenyi Spa Baths is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The  Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries: starting with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths, through the 16th century Turkish occupiers who built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest to the 19-20th century natural medical trends that promote aqua therapies and their deeply beneficial effects. The beautiful building of the spa baths is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in May 1909.

Come and enjoy your time in Budapest in Szechenyi Spa Baths, in a beautiful, richly decorated palace. The perfect place to chill out, to get to know locals, make business deals and fall in love.

  1. I have booked two tickets for me and my girlfriend but both have been booked in my name. Is that a problem or we will enter normally??

    Thank’s in advance

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Hello KARAGIANNIS,

No, it is not a problem. It often happens that a single person books for other people, friends or relatives too. As long as you have a valid transaction ID and amount for a payment for 2, you should be fine.
In the meantime we sent you the updated massage hours, please kindly check your spam folder if you do not see it in the inbox (there should be 3 emails for the massage & ticket booking – the automated, the manual resent and then the follow up with the booked in hours).

      Hope this helps.
Enjoy your January break in Budapest!

  2. Hi, I still haven’t received my confirmation email.

Should you need further help, please email us: info (at) szechenyispabaths (dot) com
      Have a lovely day.

  3. Hi. I have booked for 2 people tomorrow (Mon 20 Jan 2020). I am unable to print the tickets as we are visiting and don’t have access to a printer. Is this a problem or will tickets on phone be accepted? Thanks

  4. Hey me and my boyfriend are going to visit Budapest next month. We wanted to book a few things etc. Would you say it’s an all day thing visiting the baths? Thanks in advance x

  5. Hello. I wear the veil and wanted to know if it is possible to swim with my burkini?
if not is it true that there is a day only for women?
    thank you

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Dear Ghita,
Please see the dress code below:
The bare minimum is the proper bikini style swimwear, but you can don a sporty tankini, shorts (with a top), or a one-piece ladies swimsuit, too, if you prefer more coverage, or you are planning to do some laps in the open-air swimming pool (swim caps are mandatory in the swimming pool, but not in the other 17 pools).
Please kindly note that swimming suits covering the full body (e.g. burkini) are unfortunately not accepted in Szechenyi Baths.
Szechenyi Baths is a coed thermal facility, and there are no days only for women.
Thank you for your understanding and we hope you will visit Szechenyi Baths and will have a nice and relaxing time.
