Szechenyi Baths & Pool: Fun Place, Fine Palace

Szechenyi Baths (built in 1913) is the most visited and much praised attraction in Budapest: relaxing, fun, affordable and, at night, romantic. In addition to the marvellous medicinal natural hot spring waters in the 18 pools, there are 10 saunas / steam cabins, several massage therapies, facial treatments, and more.

Szechenyi Spa Baths is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The  Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries: starting with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths, through the 16th century Turkish occupiers who built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest to the 19-20th century natural medical trends that promote aqua therapies and their deeply beneficial effects. The beautiful building of the spa baths is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in May 1909.

Come and enjoy your time in Budapest in Szechenyi Spa Baths, in a beautiful, richly decorated palace. The perfect place to chill out, to get to know locals, make business deals and fall in love.

  1. Trying to buy tickets and it says, “I’ll check in 9am – 6pm, can stay till 10pm if I wish”. I only want to be there from 7-10 am.

We want to arrive by 7am for the baths on Saturday 10-12-19. It appears as though, we just need to buy our tickets at the spa – as the on-line help desk doesn’t open until 9am. Is this correct? Please advise as we don’t want to arrive and wait in long lines/que.

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

  3. When will I be able to purchase tickets for January?

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Dear Mollie,
for 2020 tickets, massages and packages: please check back in December. As the rates are not published yet, you will be able to book when we will start the sales for 2020 in December.
I am sorry that I could not be more helpful at this moment.

  4. If we were to visit in December is it just the thermal pool open? Also when you say not recommended for under 14 are they allowed in anyway at own risk ? Or is there other options for them at this time of year ?

  5. Good afternoon: We have paid for entry, cabins and massages at 10am tomorrow but was told we’d get details a week ahead of time but nothing came. I need to add access to the Palm House as well. please can you help me urgently before tomorrow so I know what to do. Thanks you. Kerry.

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Dear Kerry,

      • Thank you for your reply but 16:10 is absolutely not going to work for us as we requested 10am almost a month ago. I cannot come in the afternoon as we have other plans. We need to arrange for a refund if 6 hours late really is the best you can do for us.

        • Please reply as soon as you can arranging the refund to me as your times do not work for us which is why we booked WEEKS ago to get a decent time — not 4pm! Thank you.
