Szechenyi Baths & Pool: Fun Place, Fine Palace

Szechenyi Baths (built in 1913) is the most visited and much praised attraction in Budapest: relaxing, fun, affordable and, at night, romantic. In addition to the marvellous medicinal natural hot spring waters in the 18 pools, there are 10 saunas / steam cabins, several massage therapies, facial treatments, and more.

Szechenyi Spa Baths is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The  Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries: starting with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths, through the 16th century Turkish occupiers who built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest to the 19-20th century natural medical trends that promote aqua therapies and their deeply beneficial effects. The beautiful building of the spa baths is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in May 1909.

Come and enjoy your time in Budapest in Szechenyi Spa Baths, in a beautiful, richly decorated palace. The perfect place to chill out, to get to know locals, make business deals and fall in love.

  1. Hi
Me and my husband are planning to visit in September and would like to buy a ticket with massage. We have never done thermal baths before, I was wandering which best to do first, hot/ steam bath, cold/plunge pool, or massage?. What is the proper way of doing it

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Hello Ann,

      thank you for your comment.

I would suggest to start with a massage.

Once you make the payment, we will book you in for a treatment, which is the closest to your preferred hours.

Please note that we can only book a massage after payment has taken place as massage hours are limited. Once payment has come through, as pointed out earlier, we will strive to book you in closest to your preferred massage hours. If we cannot offer a suitable time for you, the price of the massage will be refunded.

To make a valid reservation please follow the link to our website:

Apart from your massage hours, you can visit the bath before or after your massage treatment too (the tickets are for the whole day in fact, for the indoor and outdoor pools and facilities). Please note that we kindly ask guests to arrive minimum 1 hour before the massage begins to be ready for the massage.

We are looking forward to your reservation.

      Hello Mamta,

      thank you for your email.

I am afraid, there are no special prices in Szechenyi spa. You can either buy a ticket with a locker or a private cabin. Let me please also inform you that the massages have been sold out for today.

If you wish to buy the fast track spa entries, please follow:

Have a great time in Szechenyi Baths.

      • Hello.

        No Problem.

What time is last entry if I purchase this ticket online? I should be there around 630ish.

  4. Last week we went to the Szechenyi Bath for the first time. It was a wonderfull experience. We also went to the aroma therapy sauna. Can you please tell me which which aroma was it?

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Hello Lisa,

      thank you for your comment.

The aromas vary, but they mainly use chamomile and peppermint.

I hopd I could be of help.

  5. Hi there, my husband and I are coming in for a doubles massage confirmed for 3 pm next Monday. As my husband is hard of hearing, I need to be with him all the time so we need a couples room for the treatment but there was no space where I could indicate this requirement on the web booking form. How can I ensure we get a couples room please?

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Hi Christina,
      thank you for contacting us.
As you have booked a double massage, I can confirm that you will have a double room (you will have both of your massages in the same room).

  6. Only received a receipt from PayPal, no tickets. Please can you re-send!
