Szechenyi Baths & Pool: Fun Place, Fine Palace

Szechenyi Baths (built in 1913) is the most visited and much praised attraction in Budapest: relaxing, fun, affordable and, at night, romantic. In addition to the marvelous medicinal natural hot spring waters in the 18 pools, there are 10 saunas / steam cabins, several massage therapies, facial treatments, and more.

Szechenyi Spa Baths is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The  Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries: starting with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths, through the 16th century Turkish occupiers who built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest to the 19-20th century natural medical trends that promote aqua therapies and their deeply beneficial effects. The beautiful building of the spa baths is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in May 1909.

Come and enjoy your time in Budapest in Szechenyi Spa Baths, in a beautiful, richly decorated palace. The perfect place to chill out, to get to know locals, make business deals and fall in love.

          Dear Elizabeth,
please use the confirmation email for the check in. You can print it or show it on your phone upon arrival.
Towel: although towel rental is available in Szechenyi Baths, there are often queues building up. Please note that the fast track entrance is only for the bath entry, and will not entitle you to have a quicker access to rentals or services. Therefore, we strongly recommend bringing your own towel to avoid some unnecessary inconvenience. Flip flops are warmly recommended to be brought to the bath.

      Dear Anne,
The booking form automatically redirects you to the PayPal page, where you can pay by card without owning or opening a PayPal account, simply using the interface of PayPal. On the page, you can see a grey button saying “Check Out as a Guest”. If you click on it, you can fill out your card payment details, and after clicking “Pay Now”, you are all set.
Hope we can welcome you at Szechenyi Spa Baths!

  3. Hi I would like to book the baths for 5 people on Monday the 11th of December. Is it possible to store luggage? We will have hand luggage bags and will be going from the baths to the airport. Also how much time would you recommend staying in the baths?
    Many thanks,
    Rachel Doherty

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Hello Rachel,
the cabin is like a tiny room, or cubicle, which can store a standard check-in suitcase easily.
The cabin size is approx. that of a dressing room in a clothes shop, so you can leave there the 20 kg suitcase as well ( if it is a regular size) along with your jackets etc.

The door of the cabin has a unique chip code lock, which opens and closes with a special waterproof bracelet: in fact, with the chip incorporated in the wristband bath entry provided in the bath. Please make sure that your door is locked with the silicon wristband before leaving the cabin. As you are wearing the band all the times, it is quite secure if you make sure that the door is not left open.
The size of the locker is 120x30x65 cm (1200 x 300 x 650 mm)., so it would be too small for your bags.
The lockers are also opened and closed by your wristband.
      I hope I could help!
Have a lovely time at Szechenyi Spa Baths!

  4. Hi,

My partner and I are travelling to Budapest in early January and are very excited to come to your baths. We won’t know the exact day we are arriving until we get there (we are visiting for three days).

Is it essential for us to book in advance or will we be ok to book on the day?

    Thanks for your help.

    • Szechenyi Spa Baths

      Hello Jamie,

      thank you for your comment.

Should you wish to buy fast track bath entries, you can buy them on the previous day. However, if you wish to book massage treatments, I would suggest to make your reservation well in advance, as massages are usually sold out days before the actual date of visit.

      Looking forward to your booking.
