Szechenyi Baths & Pool: Fun Place, Fine Palace

Szechenyi Baths (built in 1913) is the most visited and much praised attraction in Budapest: relaxing, fun, affordable and, at night, romantic. In addition to the marvelous medicinal natural hot spring waters in the 18 pools, there are 10 saunas / steam cabins, several massage therapies, facial treatments, and more.

Szechenyi Spa Baths is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The  Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries: starting with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths, through the 16th century Turkish occupiers who built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest to the 19-20th century natural medical trends that promote aqua therapies and their deeply beneficial effects. The beautiful building of the spa baths is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in May 1909.

Come and enjoy your time in Budapest in Szechenyi Spa Baths, in a beautiful, richly decorated palace. The perfect place to chill out, to get to know locals, make business deals and fall in love.

  1. Hello!
I bought two tickets via PayPal early this morning and I haven’t received my confirmation yet. One ticket with cabin, and one ticket with locker for the 23rd September. Could you help me? Thank you!

      Dear Michael,

      thank you for your booking.

I would like to confirm that we have received your booking and the auto confirmation has been sent to your given email address in the morning.
Now I have re-sent the confirmation from our backup email address to make sure you will receive it. Please check your spam folder too.

Could you please let us know if you have received it this time?

Thank you for your kind cooperation.

  2. Do you give a towel or we have to bring our own? How much does a towel costs? We can arrive at 10:00 o’clock and it says 9:00- it will not be considered late arrival right?

      Hello Bruria,

Towel rental is available in Szechenyi Baths, but there are often queues building up. Please note that the fast track entrance is only for the bath entry, and will not entitle you to have a quicker access to rentals or services. Therefore, we strongly recommend bringing your own towel to avoid some unnecessary inconvenience. The towels can be rented with a deposit of HUF 2,000, and a rental fee of HUF 2,000 (cash in HUF only for both).
Flip flops are warmly recommended to be brought to the bath.

You can arrive any time between 9am and 6pm.

Have a great time in Szechenyi Baths.

  3. Do you sell bathing caps at the bath?

  4. Is there only one thermal bath? We’re visiting from the UK so don’t want to venture out tomorrow if there will be no thermal bath open. Thank you

  5. Hi, when I try to book online it says that the thermal pool is not open – is this the outdoor pool? I would like to know what the other outdoor pools look like or offer

    Thanks,
    Jody
